Eurofiber and Intelliquent renewed

This weekend Serverius is using his new Eurofiber darkfiber and extra Intelliquent transit. With this, also the new MRV lighting hardware is taken also into use. This network upgrade allows Serverius to provide large quality network services for the upcoming years.   New Eurofiber darkfiber I​in the past Serverius was using a different (older) type of Eurofiber fiberglass. Not bad, but not ready for the future. Through this new darkfiber we are running now multiple 10Gbps data transport connections to the GlobalSwitch datacenter in Amsterdam. With this Serverius is the only datacenter in central and northern Netherlands which is able to offer large amounts of network volumes.   New hardware To achieve the highest possible network quality or our customers we selected lighting hardware of the brand MRV. This brand is well known for its quality, stability and therefore belonged to the best in the market.   Extra 10Gbps Transit added With this fiber upgrade to the GlobalSwitch datacenter in Amsterdam we also added a new 10Gbps transit line In iquent (formerly Tinet) to the network Serverius. This new transit line increased the total network capacity and large mix of transit providers which making Serverius as the only high transit provider in central and northern Netherlands. We are very proud of this! Apart from that the the new hardware environment is used for our existing colocation customers, the network is also increasingly used by other datacenters and server rooms to get there own connectivity.   Independent, fast and redundant. Where previously a good datacenter only could to be found within the Amsterdam area, today alot other datacenters are outside Amsterdam. One is more beautiful as the other. From the outside, it all seems fine, but appearances are deceiving. 8 of the 10 “data centers” are nothing more than small the server rooms of an ICT company which competes with its own customers, and 1 of the 2 other uses low capacity managed fiber and/or they often use only 1 fiber supplier (some still use dual fibers but then again through the same fiber supplier.   In this, Serverius it is different. Serverius firstly makes no use of managed fiber services (so-called “cloud fiber connections”) but we use only our own darkfibers. This becase in reality the managed cloud fibers are often down by failure or maintenance. Even this year all managed fibers in Amsterdam and the central Netherlands where 2 times due failure and 1 time due maintenance off line. If shows the importance of owned dark fibers. Both of Serverius dark fibers are baught via two different suppliers: Unet and Eurofiber. This is to ensure the network independence and not to have any impact by any maintenance or failure of a supplier.   So Serverius offers a truly professional and reliable setup. The current network setup shows how it iscontructed.   Offering more product The new datacenter “data room 2″ has been a couple weeks in use and is already used by many (new) clients. It’s nice to see that a number of them uses a few new network services like own darkfiber, wavelength, VLANs to other places in the Netherlands, announcing own PI ip space and so on. These services are offered by Serverius or Eurofiber, Unet, Railined, directly without the intervention of Serverius. This is an honest and cheaper way of working. This way clients have the freedom to choose the network partner they like. This carrier-neutral structure is used by many of our customers very much appreciated. We have in recent weeks many positive comments about it. Thank you all for that!
